postheadericon Tips from Celebrity Aesthetician

This is a helpful video, I agree with most of her points however,  I do not generally recommend exfoliants that use scrubbing beads or micro-spheres.  While these are much better than things like walnut husks which can be sharp and actually cut the skin, scrubbing beads can be problematic for people with sensitive skin especially rosacea prone skin.  Also many people are too aggressive with these types of scrubs, again actually causing damage to the skin.   I recommend using products that contain  natural exfoliants such as glycolic, salicylic or lactic acids. While these sound scary to some, they are a much more gentle and natural approach.

postheadericon The Anti-Aging Power of Anti-Oxidants

Harness the immense anti-aging power of antioxidants both internally and externally.  Free radicals are formed in our skin as a normal response to cellular metabolism. Unfortunately free radicals then attack other cells and collagen, destroying or damaging them.  Free radicals are also formed from the sun, again leading to damage and aging of the skin.

You can enjoy super powerful internal antioxidant benefits with the nutritional supplement, Xango.   Xango has significantly higher antioxidant, free radical reduction power of pomegranate, wolfberry juice blueberries and acai berry. While the whole mangosteen fruit in Xango, found mainly in Asia and Hawaii  is stronger (with an ORAC score of 17,000), these other antioxidant fruits are  great choices as well. The benefits go beyond the skin, great for your heart, joints, fighting inflammation, strengthening the immune system and lowering blood sugar to improve diabetes.  Xango also helps with weight loss.

You may be wondering how one product can do so much. I know I was skeptical at first.  Nearly 5000 medical journal articles have been written about the therapeutic fruit, mangosteen, from which Xango derives its amazing health and beauty benefits.  The  main natural active molecule in the mangosteen fruit is called a xanthone, and about 50 different xanthones in the fruit have been identified and studied. Mangosteen also contains stilbenes (anti-fungal) anthocyanin, polyphenols and quinones (antibacterial properties), just to mention a few of the other therapeutic ingredients. Mangosteen has been shown to be a more powerful anti-oxidant than vitamin E.  Two ounces a day is the recommended amount.   If you feel like you might be   coming down with a cold, I recommend a 4 oz. glass twice a day.   I haven’t had a cold in years.

Externally, I like to recommend Vitamin C serum or lotion.  My all time favorite is the Vitamin C complex by Skin Medica, as it is not only physician strength, but absolutely the most luxurious formulation ever.  You must feel this silky serum.  Topical vitamin C not only absorbs and neutralizes free radicals from the sun and the internal aging process, but also builds new collagen to lessen wrinkles.  It also gently exfoliates the skin giving a healthy appearance, decreases brown discoloration and evens the skin tone.  You cannot take enough vitamin C internally to reach therapeutic levels in the skin, which  is why we use it externally.

Another one of my favorite products, TNS Essential Serum is the premier anti-aging product on the market.  Mainly because it contains over 110 growth factors and cytokines, which are essentially like hormones of the skin, telling the skin to make more collagen and function in a natural youthful manner.  Because of the revolutionary technology that grows cells in culture, and then extracts the natural growth factors in the perfect natural balance, no product comes close to this at any cost.  In addition TNS Essential Serum contains 7 powerful antioxidants, including the very powerful ergothioneine (EGT), Co-enzyne Q-10, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, blackberry leaf extract and green tea leaf extract.

People are constantly asking me what I use on my skin. I use these three products: Xango (my mouth of course), TNS Essential Serum and Skin Medica Vitamin C serum every day, without fail.  And just a little secret, people never guess my age!  For my full regimen, watch for future blogs.
